Ritusara Privacy Policy

📋 Overview

Ritusara ("we", "our", or "the app") is a menstrual cycle and fertility tracking application built to help you understand your body. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being fully transparent about how the app works.

      The short version: Your personal health data (periods, symptoms, moods, notes)
      is stored only on your device. We never upload it to any server.
      The app does use third-party SDKs for ads and analytics, which are described in full below.
    

📦 Data Collected & Where It Is Stored

Ritusara collects the following information that you provide directly:

Period start dates, durations, and flow intensity
Daily mood and symptom logs
Personal notes attached to calendar days
Your first name (entered during onboarding)
Tracking mode preference (Trying to Conceive / Tracking Only)
App settings (theme, notification preferences)

      All of the above is saved exclusively in your device's local storage
      (Android SharedPreferences). This data never leaves your device
      and is not accessible to us or any third party.
    

You can export your data at any time as a JSON file via the Info tab. This export is initiated solely by you and goes only where you choose to send it.

Ritusara integrates the following third-party services. These services operate under their own privacy policies and may collect device-level or anonymised data independently of us.

📢 Advertising

Ritusara is free to use and is supported by advertisements served by Google AdMob. AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier (Android Ad ID) to show personalised ads based on your interests.

You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time through your device settings:

Android: Settings → Google → Ads → "Delete advertising ID" or "Opt out of Ads Personalisation"

We do not pass any health or cycle data to AdMob. Ad targeting is based solely on device-level signals managed by Google, not by your personal health information.

🩺 Sensitive Health Data

Ritusara handles information that may be considered sensitive health data, including menstrual cycle dates, symptoms, and fertility-related details. We treat this data with the highest level of care:

It is stored only on your device.
It is never transmitted to our servers or any third-party server.
It is never used for advertising targeting.
It is never sold or shared with any party under any circumstances.

🔔 Notifications

Ritusara sends local push notifications for:

Upcoming period reminders
Fertile window alerts
Daily log reminders

All notifications are generated and scheduled locally on your device using your own cycle data. No data is sent to any server to generate these notifications. You can disable any or all notifications at any time from the Info tab inside the app or from your device's system notification settings.

🗑️ Data Retention & Deletion

Your data is retained for as long as the app is installed on your device.

To delete all your data:

Uninstall the app — this removes all locally stored data permanently.
On Android 6.0+, you can also clear app data via Settings → Apps → Ritusara → Storage → Clear Data.

Because we do not store your data on any server, there is nothing for us to delete on our end.

👧 Children's Privacy

Ritusara is intended for users aged 13 and older. The app is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used the app, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

📝 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
